‘Dumars’ cafeteria in Regie

The first things you notice at the Dumars cafeteria are the dirty and ripped tablecloths and the uncomfortable chairs. Although there are ‘no smoking’ signs on the walls, students smoke and throw their cigarette butts on the floor or stub them out in their plates after they finish eating. The cutlery is all mixed together in a big metal box. People just put their hands in the box and pick out what they need. The serving staff wear hats but no gloves.

On the plus side, prices are very low (salad, fries and pork steak cost only 6 RON) but there is little choice. If you don’t like pork, don’t bother coming. The food is edible if you don’t think too much about the hygiene conditions under which it was prepared. There are no napkins: do they expect customers to use the tablecloths?
